We remain grateful to God for giving us the opportunity to live, work and study in Nepal. We are humbled by the friendliness, generosity and tenacity of the Nepali people, even when life is tough. We are constantly in awe of the natural beauty all around us - even in Kathmandu (which is sadly now one of the most polluted cities in the world).

Tearfund's work through local Christian partners continues apace, helping communities tackle issues such as human trafficking, poor sanitation, food insecurity/malnutrition, poor health and illiteracy.
As Christmas approaches we are enjoying singing and playing instruments in various school, church and choral events. One of the songs we were listening to yesterday reminded us that in all the busyness of getting ready for Christmas ('presents, santa and sleigh') we mustn't forget about the 'baby who was born in the hay.' So true!
Here are some of the highlights from our year:

Our next break was in the summer when we enjoyed almost three months in the UK, re-connecting with family, friends and favourite haunts in Devon, Surrey, the Midlands, Yorkshire, Cumbria, Scotland... The weather was amazing and we (well, the kids) were able to swim in the Irish Sea, the North Sea, the English Channel, Wast Water (England's deepest lake) and also various rivers and streams!

Back in Nepal, cycling has become our favourite family hobby. We don't have a car but on our bikes we can escape the city and explore the rolling hills and river valleys around Kathmandu.

One of our cycles took us up to the Buddhist Stupa at Swayambhunath. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site - one of seven in the Kathmandu Valley.

In September we took part in the 8th Kathmandu Marathon (we did the 5K race!) as part of a group helping to raise awareness about child trafficking in Nepal.

Also in September Amy performed in the school production of Fiddler on the Roof.
In December, both Paul and Amy took part in the primary school production of 'Angel Alert.'
